Blessed Hope Catechism Devotional (Q/A 11)

blog

“Can you discover the depths of God? Can you discover the limits of the Almighty? They are high as the heavens, what can you do? Deeper than Sheol, what can you know? “Its measure is longer than the earth And broader than the sea.” (Job 11:7-9)

Question 11: What are some other attributes of God?

Answer: He is infinite, eternal and unchanging with wisdom, love, power, and truth.

The infinite nature of God applies to all aspects of His nature. He is infinitely wise, powerful, truthful, and present. Due to His infinite nature nothing can change him and He himself does not change.

This is our God who is immeasurable in all that He is. There is no part of God’s nature or being that is limited by time, space, or creation. All wisdom, power, truth, and existence come from the infinite God. There is no part of your life that isn’t immersed with the presence of God. All that He has created screams of His glory and attests to His greatness.

While the world around us is limited in knowledge, God remains all knowing. While there are limits to the love of other, God remains all loving. While the elderly and disabled are constantly reminded of their waning power, God remains all powerful. For the limits of God are non-existent.
