Question 12: Where is God?

Answer: He is everywhere.

You can’t be everywhere at once, but God can. In fact he has always been and continues to be present everywhere. This doesn’t mean that God always makes you aware of his presence, but he is ever present amidst his creation.

We don’t mean this in some pantheistic sense that God is nature or is creation. No! Creator is totally separate from creation though he is present among us. His infinity extends to his incorporeal nature, which makes him present at all times in all things.

As the psalmist declares, “where shall I flee from your presence?” We are likewise reminded that no matter our circumstances that our God is with us. He is present in the midst of the tragedies and trials as much as the euphoria and elation. God celebrates with his creation when he is glorified in them. He mourns when we sin against him. He declares us righteous at our new birth. He witnesses these events as our ever present God.
